“I am so thankful to have gotten to have Sarah on my birth team! This was my first baby and I wanted to do an unmedicated birth but knew I would need extra support, especially being in a hospital setting. Sarah was absolutely wonderful before, throughout, and after delivery. She went over our entire birth wishes with us and helped us write them out for the hospital as well as bring up new scenarios and items we missed. She always a phone call/text away before labor even started. Once labor began she was available for me right away, although I was able to labor at home for quite some time with the help of my husband and sister in law. I was pretty nervous about arriving to the hospital and how I would handle that in active labor, so it was wonderful that Sarah met us there and right away began setting the room with lights, massaging my legs and just being an advocate between us and the nurses. I labored in the tub a lot of the time, and she was in and out just seeing what I needed, bringing drinks, checking in and also being support for my husband as well. You forget that your labor partner also needs help and support as well. Once transition hit Sarah helped me soo much with my breath, relaxation, essential oils and the fan. She brought the technical side of things to my birth team, providing combs to hold and offering different positions etc. After about 45 minutes of pushing, my baby boy was born and she stayed with us until we went over to postpartum. I enjoyed Sarah’s presence, advice, advocacy and just nurturing so much and really believe every birthing woman deserves to have a caring doula on their team.”

“Sarah provided exceptional support throughout my 24+ hour labor, incorporating my birth preferences and empowering me to take charge of the experience while advocating for my needs. Although my initial goal was a natural delivery, Sarah ensured I didn't feel inadequate when medical interventions became necessary for a safe delivery. Throughout the process, I felt confident turning to Sarah for reassurance and encouragement, which greatly boosted my confidence!”

From our very first meeting, we knew Sarah would be a great addition to our “team.” She has such a calm, friendly, and warm presence, while also being a wealth of knowledge—all of which came through in our first conversations with her. Sarah has a background in engineering but also so much passion for her work as a doula, and that combination ended up being one of our favorite things about her. Her background makes her incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and evidence-based, while she still has just the right amount of “granola” energy. It was exactly the balance we were looking for!
This especially showed when we created our birth plan. Sarah walked us through multiple scenarios so we could make informed decisions ahead of time and feel prepared for more than just the best-case scenario. I am especially grateful for this because our birth ended up having some deviations from our original plan, and thanks to those conversations, we felt much more prepared when they happened. Our meetings with Sarah were always incredibly productive and informative, but they also somehow felt like meeting up with a kind and supportive friend. It was clear that she cared about us not only as clients, but on a deeper human level as well.
Sarah was very communicative as we got closer to labor, and when the day finally came, she was instrumental in supporting both me and my partner. She arrived with a bag full of tools and techniques to help me through labor and offered suggestions and support to both of us throughout the process. She also advocated for us with our medical team and helped us access some resources and options that were not initially offered or approved.
Although our birth ultimately did not go according to our original plan, Sarah made sure we always understood our options and had the time and space to make informed decisions. Most importantly, she supported us in those decisions, no matter what they were. Having someone there who could help us process what was happening, advocate for what we wanted, and still support us when plans needed to change was invaluable.
Choosing someone to be part of your support team during one of the most beautiful, difficult, and vulnerable experiences of your life is not an easy decision, but choosing Sarah was truly one of the best decisions we could have made. We are incredibly grateful that she was part of our birth experience and could not recommend her enough!
